For Broadway's working musicians, parking often hits a sour note at $100 to $400 a month — but a new program is turning that tune around with a year of free parking downtown.

"This is such an amazing benefit for artists here on Lower Broadway," said Friends In Low Places' James Garrido. "Musicians are the passionate and creative force that powers the massive engine that is downtown Nashville.

It's the 35th anniversary of “Friends in Low Places,” the first single from Garth’s No Fences album. Instantly recognizable from the first 4 notes of its guitar intro, “Friends” has become a classic in the American songbook, a raucous singalong that everyone knows the words to.  The song is sung everywhere from football stadiums to frat houses; dive bars to upscale lounges; summer camps to college campuses; and black-tie weddings to backyard barbecues.

Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk will once again welcome CMA Fest fans to a sidewalk sale featuring Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood vintage merchandise. Back by popular demand, the sale returns to FILP at 411 Broadway from June 5-8, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fans looking to complete their collections can browse the treasures, everything from tour t-shirts to tote bags, caps to cookware, while supplies last.

His Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk, located on Nashville's famed Lower Broadway, will offer extended operating hours, special menu items, and an entertainment schedule featuring some of country music's most popular up-and-coming artists.
