Garth Brooks Turns Austin Grand Prix Into a Sing Along!

Nearly 100,000 fans sped to the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas Saturday to catch Brooks' only concert of 2025. Bobby Epstein, chairman of Circuit of The Americas, predicted the show would be a "legendary evening" and that the 90,000-fan singalong would be sublime.

And it was.

"They were ready at the start and never waned," Brooks said. "They had spent all day in over 90-degree heat and still had the strength to wear my ass out! It's ALWAYS epic to play Texas!”

Brooks doled out his biggest hits, including "Friends In Low Places," "Thunder Rolls," "The Dance," and more. True to the style that helped make him famous, the Country Music Hall of Famer connected with the audience through his funny stories and meaningful moments, even giving a guitar to a small child near the beginning of the show, according to Billboard.

"I told the crowd, on this ship if you don't work, you get off the ride.  My guitar wasn't working. I saw the child on his parent's shoulders and just handed it to someone in the crowd who handed it back to someone who in turn handed it back to someone else. I watched the guitar travel on top of the crowd until it reached the young boy." Brooks boasted, "THAT story defines the country music audience. That story describes Texas."

Afterward, fans called the night  "90-plus minutes of karaoke" with thousands of people. One person wrote, "If you haven't seen Garth live, he's incredible. A pure entertainer." Another fan said: "It was amazing! So happy we got to be a part of this event.”

Whether it was fans, critics, or Brooks self-reporting on the night, the Statesman may have summed it up best. Austin's newspaper of record reported that buoyed by his 10-piece band, Brooks transformed the evening into "a multi-generational celebration of country music.”
