GARTH BROOKS: Kennedy Center Honors Salute to KISS Airs Tuesday!
Garth Brooks’ performance honoring KISS at this year’s Kennedy Center Honors can be seen by all of us this week when the event airs as a CBS-TV special Tuesday night (8:00-10:30pm ET/PT)!
Garth opened the salute to the rockers, walking onstage and speaking about the group’s impact on a generation of people like him before performing “Shout It Out Loud.”
“The great thing about The Kennedy Center is it kind of shows you the diversity of the music that I grew up on,” says Garth – a 2020 Kennedy Center Honoree himself – who has helped honor several people over the years. “Getting to be part of honoring Loretta Lynn…and George Jones…and rock and pop acts like Billy Joel…Gladys Knight – how cool is that?” he notes, adding his appreciation for KISS as part of “that wild, diverse kind of music that we were all raised on!”
