TRISHA YEARWOOD: Christmastime Is Coming!!
Fresh on the heels of the acclaimed release of her songwriting album The Mirror, we’re getting still more new music from Trisha Yearwood this year! And it’s just in time for the holidays!!
Christmastime will arrive on November 7, produced by Grammy Award winner Don Was and featuring lush arrangements by legend David Campbell! The twelve-song collection will be Trisha’s first holiday album since Christmas Together with Garth Brooks…and her first solo one since 1994’s The Sweetest Gift.
“I love these songs. It’s a mix of traditional…there’s a couple of more ‘modern’ songs…and then there’s an original co-written song that Garth and I wrote together,” she says.
Highlights include a sweeping orchestral update of “Christmastime Is Here” from A Charlie Brown Christmas, a soulful new take on Elvis Presley’s “Blue Christmas,” and a cinematic reimagining of “Pure Imagination” from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. “Merry Christmas, Valentine” is a heartfelt original co-written and performed with Garth. Other tracks include “My Favorite Things,” “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” “Simple Gifts,” “It’s Just Another New Year’s Eve,” “Cool Yule,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” “Years” and “Candy Cane Lane.”
“There’s never too early a time to play Christmas music,” Trisha says with a smile. “And what’s cool about making a Christmas album is…in July you get to decorate for Christmas…and you get to sing all these Christmas songs,” she shares of her recent recording sessions in Los Angeles, where she worked with a full orchestra on a Warner Brothers soundstage.
To celebrate the release, Trisha will embark on the Christmastime with Trisha Yearwood: 12 Days of Christmas Tour, performing alongside local symphonies across the country. “I can’t wait to share this music and celebrate the season with fans on tour,” she says. The limited run begins December 2 in Nashville and will visit major cities including Newark, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, and Detroit before wrapping December 20 in Louisville, Kentucky. Tickets for all shows that aren’t already available go on sale this Friday (visit www.trishayearwood.com/tour for more information)!
