How to Get Garth Brooks Tickets for "Opening Night" in Indianapolis! Tickets Go On Sale This Friday, July 17, 10 a.m. ET SHARP!!

The Waiting Room vs the Secondary Market

Fans hoping to attend the opening dates of GarthBrooks' Blame It All On My Roots Tour can improve their chances when tickets goon sale at 10 a.m. ET Friday, July 17, by joining Ticketmaster's virtual waiting room up to 30 minutes before the on-sale.

The waiting room is designed to confirm you're areal person — not a bot or someone trying to game the system.

(To join the waiting room, fans should make or sign in to their Ticketmaster account, update their payment information before the sale begins, and make sure their profile and billing information match.Once the waiting room opens, fans join it and leave the page open until the on-sale begins.)

Once the on-sale begins, everyone in the waiting room is placed into the ticket queue.  Being in the waiting room does not guarantee you'll get a ticket.

To understand why the waiting room matters, it helps to understand today's secondary ticket market.

Ticket scalping remains one of the biggest challenges in touring, Brooks says. Scalping used to look like someone buying four tickets, using two, and selling the other two to help pay for the night.Today, the process has become much more sophisticated. Bots flood ticketing systems, slowing the purchasing process for real people, frustrating fans, and pushing many to the secondary market, where ticket prices are exorbitantly higher than those set by the artist.

"I've never understood why scalping is legal," Brooks says. "I don't think I am making it too simple by saying if we just make scalping illegal, a bunch of the problems of today's ticketing procedures would be gone."

Brooks smiles at the thought of approaching lawmakers who may want to experiment with eliminating scalping.

"I've always wanted to go to the 'powers that be' and tell them I would be happy to do a tour without scalping if they want to see if we all miss it or not," Brooks laughs.

Tickets for the first two shows of the Blame ItAll On My Roots Tour — Aug. 21-22 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis — goon sale at 10 a.m. ET Friday, July 17, at Ticketmaster.com/garthbrooks or through the Ticketmaster app.
