GARTH BROOKS RETURNS TO OKLAHOMA STATE, HOSTS Q&A ABOUT CAREERS IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS

Garth Brooks returned to his alma mater, Oklahoma State University, with Trisha Yearwood and several members of his team to host a symposium for students interested in pursuing careers in any aspect of the music business.  The event, held in the McKnight Center at the Greenwood School of Music, was part of OSU’s Industry Insights series.

“So I brought people who hopefully will be able to answer any kind of question that you guys have got.” With that, Brooks introduced the members of his team who work in different areas of the business--Dan Heins and John McBride in production and audio; Mandy McCormack in radio promotion; Ben Krebs, Samantha Olsen, and Bryan Moore in photography, videography, and social media; and songwriter/musician Bryan Kennedy.

Last month, Billboard recognized the Greenwood School of Music as a top music business school, alongside 37 other schools including Abbey Road Institute, Berklee College, Belmont University, and Fisk University.
