Garth Brooks to Denver Fans: Beat the Bots

Garth Brooks has one important message for anyone hoping to score tickets to his Blame It All On My Roots Tour stop in Denver: Be ready before the on-sale begins.

After seeing the demand for tickets for the tour’s kickoff in Indianapolis, Brooks is encouraging everyone to sign in to their Ticketmaster account, update their information, and join the virtual waiting room before tickets go on sale 10 a.m. MT Friday.

“When you join the waiting room before the queue opens, it helps Ticketmaster block bots so real people have a fair shot at getting tickets,” Brooks said.

The Ticketmaster waiting room opens up to 30 minutes before the on-sale and is designed to help confirm that fans are real people — not automated programs.

To be ready, fans should sign in to their Ticketmaster account — or create one if they don't already have one — and update their payment information before the waiting room opens. Once inside the virtual waiting room, they should leave the page open until it’s their turn to shop.

When tickets go on sale, everyone in the waiting room is placed into the ticket queue. Ticketmaster's queue technology is designed to detect and filter out bot activity, and that's why this process is so important to Brooks – it protects those people who have allowed him to be an artist.

"I really urge people to get in the waiting room before the queue opens and update all your info ahead of time," Brooks said.

Brooks believes the larger issue is the continued presence of ticket scalping.

"I don't know why scalping is still legal," Brooks said. "I think a lot of the problems with ticket purchases would go away if scalping were made illegal.”

Denver is the second stop on Brooks' Blame It All On My Roots Tour, following the four-show kickoff in Indianapolis. Brooks will perform Sept. 4 and 5 at Ball Arena.

Tickets go on sale Friday, July 31, at 10 a.m. MT SHARP through Ticketmaster and the Ticketmaster app. There is an eight-ticket limit per purchase. Every ticket is priced at $155.25 ($140 ticket price, $5.25 facility fee, and $10 service charge), with every seat in the house sold at one price. All tickets go on sale simultaneously, with no presales or advance box office sales.
