Garth Brooks Adds Third Salt Lake City Show After Massive Ticket Demand

More than 100,000 fans lined up Friday for a chance to see Garth Brooks in Salt Lake City — and Brooks wants to make room for more.

After ticket queues for each of Brooks’ previously announced Delta Center shows surpassed 50,000 people during Friday’s on-sale, Brooks added a third performance to his Blame It All on My Roots Arena Tour stop in Utah.

The newly added matinee show is set for Sunday, Oct. 11, following Brooks’ Friday, Oct. 9, and Saturday, Oct. 10, concerts at the Delta Center. Tickets for the Sunday show go on sale Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 10 a.m. MT through SeatGeek.

“The whole goal of an on sale is to make sure any one person who wants a ticket gets one,” Brooks said. “I am so fortunate that anyone wants to come to the show."

Friday’s ticket sale didn’t go exactly as expected.

Queues for Brooks’ Friday and Saturday concerts reached 50,000 people, with more than 90% verified as human. The on-sale seemed to run smoothly. But minutes later, all the tickets disappeared. SeatGeek realized the numbers didn’t add up and started investigating.

“Hats off to SeatGeek and the Delta Center,” Brooks said. “They immediately went to work, the system never went down, and their people handled the situation with care and professionalism.”

For Brooks, the demand is another chapter in a relationship with Utah fans that stretches back nearly three decades.

“The great state of Utah has ALWAYS been the place for Garth Brooks to play,” he said. “This just shows me how blessed I continue to be when I am around those people.”

Brooks first played the Delta Center in July 1998, returned in 2015, then took his Stadium Tour to Rice-Eccles Stadium in 2021 and 2022. The three stadium concerts sold more than 160,000 tickets in less than a year.

Now, Brooks is returning to the Delta Center for the first time in nearly 11 years — and what began as a two-show weekend has already grown to three.

“Again, all my gratitude for the people at SeatGeek and Delta Center,” Brooks said. “They handled the situation extremely well. I look forward to not only playing the two shows that sold today but would love to get the chance to play more shows in Salt Lake.”

He got his wish.

The Blame It All on My Roots Arena Tour brings Brooks back indoors and in the round, surrounded by fans on every side of the stage. The production features towering LED screens known as “the halo,” and the return of Brooks’ iconic Drum Pod, a centerpiece of his arena shows in the 1990s.

Tickets for Brooks’ newly added Sunday, Oct. 11, matinee at the Delta Center go on sale Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 10 a.m. MT through SeatGeek.
