GARTH BROOKS’ “THAT’S WHAT COWBOYS DO” HONORED AS ONE OF THE MOST PERFORMED ASCAP COUNTRY SONGS OF 2021

Garth Brooks’ “That’s What Cowboys Do,” from his album FUN, was honored as one of the Most Performed Country Songs of 2021 at the 60th Annual ASCAP Country Music Awards in Nashville on November 7.  Brooks co-wrote the song with John Martin and Mitch Rossell and claimed that “it might be the most country thing we’ve put out since ‘Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old).’”

ASCAP hosts the annual awards gala to recognize its member writers and publishers of the country songs that received the most public performances throughout the year.  As ASCAP songwriters, Brooks and Martin attended the festivities and accepted their award medals.
