GARTH BROOKS VISITS COUNTRY RADIO SEMINAR, DISCUSSES NEW “NO FENCES” INDUSTRY AWARD

Country Radio Broadcasters to Present Award to an Innovator Who Stretches Boundaries

Garth Brooks visited the opening day of Country Radio Seminar on March 13, discussing the newly established Garth Brooks ‘No Fences’ Award.

The award will be presented by Country Radio Broadcasters at a future Country Radio Seminar to a recipient who “has boldly demonstrated innovation, creativity, and tenacity.”  Recipients of the ‘No Fences’ award will have defied traditional standards and practices and created positive change for the industry as a whole.  A blue-ribbon committee of CRB board members and representatives from Brooks’s team will determine the inaugural recipient.

CRB/CRS Executive Director RJ Curtis led the opening-day conversation with Brooks about the criteria and selection process for the new award.  They also talked about Brooks’s long-standing relationship with country radio and his regular participation in Country Radio Seminar over the years, including performances, interviews, and panel discussions.

“I can’t imagine my career without country music radio!” Brooks said.  "They were there for me before No Fences, and we've been stretching boundaries ever since.  All my love and thanks to them."
