Chris LeDoux's Family Celebrates Platinum Sales, Video Premiere at Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk
Friends and family of Rodeo Legend, Chris LeDoux celebrated him and his music this week when they gathered at Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk on Lower Broadway to commemorate his song "This Cowboy's Hat" earning an RIAA Platinum certification. In addition to marking 1 million copies sold, they lauded the song's official music video big-screen premiere.
LeDoux's son Ned was present to accept the plaque on his behalf. RIAA's Jackie Jones and UMGN EVP of Marketing Lori Christian joined him.
The Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk staff even got in on the fun, all wearing "Just LeDoux It" t-shirts as the crowd celebrated LeDoux's life and legacy.
"I love the story this song tells," said the video's director, Jeff Carter. "The Western setting, the flashback images, the honor and courage of the cowboy, the common ground, the resolution. As I learned more about Chris LeDoux the man, the ideas in the song were also the principles he stood for."
The video was extra personal for LeDoux's loved ones as his son Ned and his bandmate, Lane Turner, are featured in the clip.
Fans who want to see Ned on stage instead of just in the music video can catch him on the road. The younger LeDoux performs a mix of his personal music and his dad's hits, including "Western Skies," "Hooked On An Eight Second Ride," and "Cadillac Cowboy."
Ned has vowed to continue the LeDoux brand of music. For tour dates, tickets, information, and more, visit NedLeDoux.com.
