GARTH BROOKS & THE MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS – This is a collection of 14 holiday standards performed in the big band style, including “Winter Wonderland,” “Sleigh Ride,” and “The Christmas Song.” It topped the Billboard Top Country Albums and Top Holiday Albums charts and was certified platinum by the RIAA. The album was the basis for Garth’s first Christmas television special, Garth Brooks & the Magic of Christmas, which aired on NBC on December 1, 1999. With special guests Tony Bennett, Natalie Cole, and Trisha Yearwood, Garth played Christmas favorites backed by a 32-piece band in the Rainbow Room atop Rockefeller Plaza and at other famous New York locations.

The album was re-released in 2001 as Garth Brooks & the magic of Christmas: Songs From Call Me Claus. This version included two new songs, “’Zat You, Santa Claus?” and “Call Me Claus,” written by Garth for Call Me Claus, a 2001 made-for-TV holiday movie he executive produced along with Whoopi Goldberg.
