NO FENCES
Released August 1990

NO FENCES – RIAA certified for sales of over 18 million units, NO FENCES was the 4th best selling album of the ‘90s in all genres.  It was Garth’s first #1 album and his first album to sell more than 10 million copies, earning the RIAA’s Diamond Award. The album included four consecutive #1 hits:  “The Thunder Rolls,” “Friends in Low Places,” “Unanswered Prayers,” and “Two of a Kind, Workin’ on a Full House.”

At the time of its release, it was impossible to predict the impact NO FENCES would have, not only on Garth’s career, but also on the way country music would be viewed from that point on. “Friends in Low Places” was the CMA and ACM Single of the Year in 1991, while “The Thunder Rolls” was the American Music Awards Favorite Country Single in 1992. NO FENCES helped launch Brooks’ career by earning him an incredible  six Academy of Country Music Awards in 1991, including Album of the Year, Top Male Vocalist, and Entertainer of the Year.
